Zip Line or Canopy at Costa Rica. An elevated and inclined wire from which a pulley and a one-person seating apparatus are suspended allowing the person to move between two points by the action of gravity. Used in some places, such as rain forests, as a tourist attraction. Participating in this type of activity is called "zip lining." Also called "Tyrolean crossing." When the angle is steep, sometimes called a "death slide."

A Zip line or Canopy  is a method of transportation for people and tourism goods which may also used in a recreational parks. Zip-lines(Canopy) are created by stringing a very strong cable between two points, and attaching a pulley to the cable. To use the zip-line(Canopy), people grab onto or snap onto the pulley and launch themselves, traveling rapidly across the line to the other side. It is also possible to clip buckets or baskets onto the pulley for various goods.

You may also see a Zip-Line (Canopy) referred to as a death slide, aerial runway, or flying fox, among many other things, and it is also spelled in some regions without the hyphen, as zip line(Canopy). The size and scope of zip-lines (Canopy) around the world varies widely, from simple backyard zip-lines which are designed to be safe enough for children to very high, long professional zip lines(Canopy) used in locations where other methods of transport are not practical.
